Philippine politics resembled nothing so much as the "good old days" of the pre-martial law period--wide-open, sometimes irresponsible, but undeniably free. Pre-martial law politics, however, essentially were a distraction from the nation's serious problems. The parties were completely non-ideological. Therefore, politicians and office-holders switched parties whenever it seemed advantageous to do so. Almost all politicians were wealthy, and many were landlords with large holdings. They blocked moves for social reform; indeed, they seemed not to have even imagined that society required serious reform.
It is very important to care about politics because you should know what is going on around you. Also, it is important to have a say in what is going on around you. The political decisions people make will affect many lives. Many people see politics as the government and the laws being made, and that is true, but it is way more complicated than that. Every law that is made will impact many. Sometimes the decisions will affect people in a bad way. Every vote that you make will either break people or make people.
Everyone should have a say in what will happen, because we all live side by side with each other, and it would not be fair if someone was left out. Also, each vote makes a difference in the ways that we live. It is always important to to share your opinion. The way you vote will affect many people, and their everyday life.
Politics deals with the man’s collective life. As said by Aristotle that “man is a social animal”; a human being cannot lead an isolated life. Politics comes into existence to reconcile the competing differences between different individuals and groups as far as distribution of goods, resources and values are concerned.
Thus study of politics is essential for ensuring a good and happy life and also to realize the innate potential in the self. It is an indispensable part of one’s social existence. Without politics, the state of anarchy would prevail where the law of ‘might is right’ will operationalize. It would lead to dangers of tyranny of majority and inflict an insurmountable damages to human civilization.
As a student we need to know the importance of philippine politics for us to be aware at everything.We need also to cooperate with them to build a wise decision for everyone's better life,and for us to have a good leader who will lead us in a better future and improvement in our societies or development.
The importance of this subject is for us to build a good decision not only for our life but also for the sake of the others,and for us to be aware on what happening to our surroundings.
